I’m a CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of a listed company in France. I’ve managed my company through refinancing, recapitalisation, expansion, hostile take over bids, friendly take over bids and generally through a subdued economy in Europe while keeping a good humor and trying to build up my own asset base at the same time.
I arrived in France at the turn of the century and set my immediate goal to surviving in a country where I didn’t speak the language and didn’t know anyone. After overcoming those first two shortcomings, I set my sights on navigating the complex work environment and finding my career objective. I was jumping between going into Investment Banking, asset management or into an industrial company.
Two companies later, with a stint in the music industry and telecommunications, I knew I wanted to be the CFO of a listed company. Ten years after arriving in France, I achieved that objective.
With a wife and 2 young boys, my adventure continues as I build up my portfolio, learn greater things about Leadership, about being a father and husband and contemplate the concepts of Financial Independence and Early Retirement, all the while growing in my career.
This is my Journey.
